2013 DC new releases - rumors ???

there is rumors that in this years dc nwt will be released and also new tracts.

any other rumors about new releases?.

I think there is some legitamacy to this theory, I am the literature servant in our hall and we have been back ordered on Reference Bibles and the Black and Red Deluxe Bibles for about 8 months now. All we have are some of the crappy paper bibles and a few hardcovers. Maybe because they aren't printing them and are instead waiting for the release of this NNWT.

Interesting, I've been trying to get a new Bible from the back for a while. I have a reference bible on order and the servant has apologized to me a couple times even though I wasn't pressing him. I just need a new Bible. We don't even have any of the paper back Bibles at our congregation. He told me those were on backorder too.

Why did the organization stop providing food during conventions?

i'm sure many of us still remember these times when the organization used to sell food at conventions.. i also remember that when this was stopped, the official reason was that the "brothers" were missing some of the program because of all the preparations.

typical watchtower "pretend we care" excuse.. i've wondered if there is another reason behind it, tied to perhaps finances or logistics that was the real deciding factor.

history and typical "modus operandi" of the society tells me that if there was some money to be made that way, they would not have stopped.. wonder if anybody has more info on this..

Stopped providing food?!?!?!? Seriously? There's more food than ever at the conventions but it's not the physical kind you want. Rather it's the spiritual kind you need. Happy are those especially conscious of their need for the food dispensed at the conventions.

Too many to choose from. Shirley mentioned Marvin Gaye's What's Goin On earlier, but the one from him that blew me away was Here My Dear which I only heard for the first time last year. Amazing record. It followed his divorce from Barry Gordy's daughter and whatever money the album made off of sales had to go towards alimony payments per the divorce settlement stipulations. Hence the title, Here My Dear. Hearing dude sing about attorney fees blew me away. Have to say some of the tracks remind me of the WT too. I've never experienced a bad breakup, but the past couple years waking up from WT induced insomnia has been rough emotionally at times. Some of the emotions Marvin conveyed on the album remind me of my own sentiments towards the WT.

Love the previous comments. The Animals, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, all dope. I went through a post punk/goth phase and had a few Dead Can Dance tracks that I liked but I don't ever recall listening to an entire album. Have to give it a shot.

conversations with jws seem to be more jw-ish than ever!

in normal conversation, i'll hear: "these watchtowers are just wonderful!

I am totally confoused who is the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class?

i have been hearing and reading on websites about some "new light" jws are saying concerning the faithful and discreet slave class.

it sounds like the same information they have been saying for years.

i was always taught the faithful and discreet slave class is the annoited governing body members dispensing food at the proper time for the non annoited jws.

how much wiser it would have been for korah to wait on jehovah for a clearer understanding or for adjustments if those were really needed.

This reminds me of something Ray Franz mentioned in COC regarding both himself and Ed Dunlap. Can't remember the exact verbiage, but it was along the lines of with one announcement all of the years spent supporting the organization and years of being faithful before God were tossed out the window or blotted from memory. I wish I could remember how he put it as it was humbling. I wonder if other religions are as discouraging as the WT/JWs. You almost feel like saying why bother even trying. Jehovah will probably destroy me anyway so screw it.
